NMPR: Different IMEI numbers bringing up identical search results

The unique part of every IMEI number is the first 14 digits. Usually, however, the IMEI number will be 15 digits or longer and some phones may have more than one version of this number, the 15th and subsequent digits differing from one another. Providing that the first 14 digits match however then the IMEI number will be for the same phone.

When you run a search on the NMPR only the first 14 digits of an IMEI number will be checked. This means that if you check two or more IMEI numbers where the numbers only start to differ after the 14th digit, then they will up bring up identical results.
